- To acknowledge and support the tangata whenua of the region; specifically ngā iwi; Ngai Tahu, Ngāti Mamoe, Waitaha

- To promote kaupapa Māori as a vehicle for personal development and physical, mental, cultural and spiritual well-being
- To develop, strengthen and support other individuals and groups throughout Te Waipounamu (South Island) and Te Ika ā Maui (North Island) who promote Te Reo Māori me ōna Tikanga
- To liaise, collaborate and network with other organisations that enhance and assist Māori kaupapa development
