Kia ora Karis,
Thank you for the follow up. I’m so sorry but I cant get enough of our group to commit to a performance in Easter. I really would have loved to have been able to support this time, but I just cant confirm that we will have enough people.
Thank you again for the opportunity and apologies that we could not get enough people.

======================================================
Kia Ora Cory,
Karis here from the Wakatipu Music Festival – We met last year as I was the Stage and Production Manager’s apprentice and I am happy to reintroduce myself this year as the Official Operations Manager 😊
We loved having the Waiatatia group open for the festival last year and I am reaching out to you to see if the group may be interested in a full performance slot? This would run under the community performance showcase which runs on Saturday and Sunday afternoon of Easter weekend. I have attached a little more information below:
Community Showcase: A performance slot (15-25 minutes either Easter Saturday or Sunday)
Community Performance Dates/Times: 16 + 17 April: 12:30pm – 2:30pm
Soundcheck in Performance space: A 15min slot on Sat 16th April between 9:00am-12:00pm if needed
Performance Space: Queenstown Memorial Centre, performing on the ground floor in front of the existing stage (festival decision due to acoustics). Audience “in the round” in the stalls as well as tiered audience seating.
Tech: The Festival’s classical performances are acoustic, but we understand there are modest tech requirements needed for jazz and other genres. We are planning for 2xhand handheld mics, 3x condenser mics and an amp as well as a sound mixer on site.
Payment: Volunteer based, however a small Koha will be provided for each group
World Premiere of a new work specifically written for the Festival
In partnership with SOUNZ, the Festival has commissioned a wonderful NZ composer, Lucy Mulgan, to create a work that is orchestrated specifically for the diverse ability range of the Festival’s community of artists (e.g. easy, medium and hard – individual parts for high, medium and low instruments with a SATB vocal element). This work will be distributed to the local community’s musicians in late February so that all interested musicians can prepare their part and participate in an en mass rehearsal and performance on the final day of the Festival. Please let us know if you would like to be included
Rehearsal Date: Monday 18 April Approx 9:00am-11:00am
Performance Date: Monday 18 April Approx 1:00pm
*Lucy will be preparing practice videos to help individuals prepare their parts*
We would love to have you all involved again this year, please have a think and let me know if you have any questions 😊
Kia Pai t ō rā whakatā!
Ngā Mihi,
Karis Vernon
Operations Manager
